One of the treasures I brought back from my trip to Sweden - the perfume Fantome de Maules from new Swedish perfumer Stora Skuggan . Sandalwood, Vetiver, Lavender, Cardamom, with Lemon and Green Leaves - yum.
Maison Objet 2016
This year I could not make it to Maison Objet in Paris. I was elbow deep in a residential renovation and a retail flagship design with a fancy opening party scheduled for January 30th. Exciting and stimulating work, but I miss the twinkle and magic of Paris in winter and the fresh ideas I bring back from the show.

Copenhagen Oliver Gustav
In Copenhagen for a quick stopover on my way back from Stockholm to LA via London. The bohemian capital deserves a longer visit - I will have to come back soon. Nursing a strong caffe latte, I lingered longingly at my favorite design shop, Oliver Gustav.

A visit to Kim Dolva's Kobenhavns Mobelsnedkeri is a must when in Copenhagen. Aptly nicknamed KitchenJesus, Dolva designs and builds sought after, exquisitely luxurious wood kitchens, and his showroom is introducing a limited range of furniture.
Postscript: Ellsworth Kelly
The artist Ellsworth Kelly died on Sunday December 27, 2015. He was ninety-two. His paintings and sculpture were as the New Yorker called them "ascetically luxuriant", infused with innocence and a rare perception.
