Rick Owens: Furniture
I just saw MOCA's excellent exhibition of Rick Owens' recent furniture, a new group of large-scale sculptures, and videos, alongside a selection of works by the late artist and musician Steven Parrino. I am a longtime fan of his minimalist clothing, and Owens has applied a punk and anarchist sensibility to furniture design as well, creating brutal and elegant forms out of marble, alabaster, bronze, ox bone, leather, concrete, and plywood. On view until April 2, 2017.
Tristan Auer
The sublime sensibilities of Tristan Auer never fails to make me swoon. Auer gained international recognition (especially among the fashion and design crowd) when he redesigned the famous Hotel Les Bains in Paris. Dallas based powerhouse firm Wilson and Associates scooped him up as head of their Paris office, shortly thereafter, and describe the joining of forces to that of Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel - Auer will be able and encouraged to create his own projects while leading Wilson into a world of Parisian luxury. Auer's most recent project is another icon, Hotel Crillon, slated to open mid 2017.

Swedish architecture and design firm Claesson Koivisto Runelaunched their beautiful new collection for DUX at Nobis Hotel during Stockholm Design Week.

Brooklyn-based Office for Creative Research used 33 poles inscribed with public data to showcase foreigners role in the founding and developing success of New York City.

Alvar Aalto's three-legged stool has been given an urban makeover by streetwear label Supreme.
The brand has updated the modernist designer's iconic Stool 60 with a bold chequerboard graphic and the Supreme box logo on its circular seat.

The Paris offices of skincare brand Aesop have been transformed into a pop up spa by Benjamin Paulin, son of iconic French designer Pierrre Paulin.
Maison & Objet
These beautiful rugs were some of the best new design presented at Maison et Objet in Paris. The exquisite detail and historic references weaved into Italian duo du jour Dimorestudio's Paralleli (top)bring together baroque, Persian and Indian motifs set against rough hewn seams and monochromatic fields for a whole new modernity. Patricia Urquiola's trompe l'oeil reflects her current love of bauhauesque composition and colors, a palette returning in many designers offerings this year and last, such as Zaven's geometric rug for CC-Tapis.
Thomas Persson for Hermes
I love Hermes and I love menswear. (and men's accessories - especially by Hermes) Most of all I love the brilliant styling by Thomas Persson for Hermes. I have mentioned Thomas before, as the co-founder of Luncheon Magazine and former editor-in-chief of Acne Paper.
